On Wednesday, November 19, in Aix-en-Provence, eight employees from the CSTI group gathered at the training center DT320 to participate in the first session of the "Coaching of Coaches" training, or tutor training for the COACH mentorship program launched by GIFEN.These eight tutors, coming from different entities and professions within the CSTI group, are responsible for training about a dozen learners, most of whom are apprentices. This training aims to equip the tutors with the skills to pass on knowledge, know-how, and interpersonal skills.

The 2-day training is organized into 4 key phases :

  • the pedagogy (constructive feedback, culture of error in particular) ;
  • the rules of nuclear safety and security;
  • the use of the digital apprenticeship logbook, a tool for tracking the learner's or "coachee's" skill development;
  • the setting of tailored objectives for the learner to ensure their progress.

The first day of training provided an opportunity for the tutors to discuss common issues such as the difficulty in recruiting profiles suited to the jobs or in developing a customer-oriented culture (meeting deadlines, quality, etc.).

Throughout the day, the tutors actively participated, fully engaging in the training. They unanimously emphasized a fundamental concept in the relationship between learner and tutor: trust.

The "Coach Coaching" training, Qualiopi certified, is a key component of the COACH program led by GIFEN, which aims to provide the nuclear sector with a structured system framing the mentoring approach for SMEs and mid-sized companies.

A video recap of what motivated the first mentors of the CSTI group to join the GIFEN apprenticeship program:

At the end of the training, the second day of which will take place on December 17, the eight pioneering tutors of the COACH program will leave with an additional skill in their arsenal, and not just any: a method to pass on their professional techniques to their colleagues.

The next step? To offer this program to other companies as soon as possible, in order to develop mentorship within our industry and ensure professional excellence and "getting it right the first time" in the service of metalworking time.
