GIFEN calls for nuclear power to be recognised as a strategic technology for Europe

Background picture

The race against global warming calls for far-reaching changes in the way industry operates. To meet this challenge, on 16 March 2023 the European Commission presented the draft regulation for a European net zero emissions industry (NZIA - Net Zero Industry Act). GIFEN responded to the public consultation launched by the European Commission on the draft NZIA (Net Zero Industry Act) regulation.

GIFEN calls on co-legislators to include nuclear technologies in the proposed regulation

All existing and future nuclear applications need support for their innovations. The European trialogue is currently underway and GIFEN therefore calls on the co-legislators to fully integrate all nuclear technologies into the proposed regulation in order to support the development of the European nuclear industry and thus contribute to the objectives of climate change and European strategic autonomy.

Feel free to respond to the consultation, which is open until 27 June 2023, via the following link.
