In a press release, GIFEN points out that most of the waste produced by the nuclear industry is TFA (very low level of activity) waste, whose radioactivity is extremely low or even zero. In a logic of circular economy, it would be relevant to change the regulations, as other countries have done, to allow the recycling of this waste, 40 to 45% of which are metallic elements that could be recovered.
