FOC Transmissions

Energie Nucléaire

Presentation

Founded in 1895, FOC Transmissions, based in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, has specialized for many years in the design, manufacture and maintenance of speed reducers.

The company is present in a wide range of industrial sectors, including nuclear power, hydraulics, railways, steelmaking, special machinery, defense, etc.

Our presence in the nuclear field dates back to the construction of the first power plants, and our company benefits from a unique REX in this sector and a perfect knowledge of the different specifications and their evolution, as well as the different materials that have equipped overhead travelling cranes over the years.

Our quality structure, inspired by EDF standards, has been built up over many years on the basis of nuclear industry recommendations, making it possible for us to be qualified by EDF UTO and, from November 2023, to be certified according to the ISO 19443:2018 standard.

To meet our customers' needs in a relevant and responsive way, our company is structured around three divisions:

- The “Transmission Products” Division. With strong skills in studies, calculations, modeling and definition of powertrains, the division designs and defines gearboxes, multipliers, hoisting winches, couplings, braking devices and motors to meet all types of demand.

- The Machining Division. Equipped with a high-performance machine park and sustained investment in general mechanics (lathes, boring machines, milling machines) and specific gear-related resources (cutting machines, grinding machines, broaching machines), we carry out all types of machining work on a subcontract basis, from model parts or drawings, for single parts, small or medium series.

- The Maintenance Division. Our project managers are responsible for all aspects of the project, from acceptance and dismantling, to the preparation of expert reports and quotations for the repair, reinforcement and rebuilding of all makes and models of transmission systems.

The company's development is guided over time by 5-year strategic plans, in which listening to customers and innovation are key factors.

Our company has therefore embarked on a far-reaching CSR program, supported by the BPI, aimed in particular at the environmental transformation of mechanical engineering companies, in response to our customers' expectations.

In terms of innovation, our determination, coupled with our mastery of the constraints on lifting equipment, has enabled us to develop a "Sentinel" braking system, providing the highest guarantee of load control even in the event of a kinematic chain failure.

We are also currently working on a collaborative project to develop a digital twin of a polar bridge. The aim is to offer effective predictive maintenance solutions.

The company is now partly owned by the company's management and partly by Ducrocq Ingénierie (a family-owned SME based in the Hauts de France region).

The clear and shared ambition of this merger is to increase customer satisfaction.

In particular by :

- Leveraging complementarities to offer more effective solutions, thanks to the pooling of two areas of expertise.

- Offering more reliable global solutions, with greater compatibility between products.

- Simplified integration and management for customers, with fewer interfaces and genuine Plug & Play solutions.
