A European pioneer, Cyclife offers integrated services for nuclear facility decommissioning and radioactive waste management projects. By implementing EDF's unique waste-led decommissioning approach, Cyclife supports its customers in reducing costs and waste volumes, optimising their programmes and recycling materials where possible.
Its three licensed nuclear sites, based in the United Kingdom (Workington), Sweden (Nyköping) and France (Bagnols-sur-Cèze), process very low to low-level waste. They provide services such as the management of large nuclear components, decontamination, waste volume reduction, material recycling, melting, incineration and pyrolysis. They also advise their customers on preparing and optimising on-site operations, such as decommissioning. They deploy the Best Available Techniques for waste conditioning, volume reduction and material recycling.
Cyclife, a subsidiary of the EDF Group, has six engineering and expertise centres where highly qualified engineers work to design waste treatment facilities and workshops and define comprehensive scenarios for dismantling a given nuclear facility. They also develop remote-controlled tools for dismantling operations. All these activities are carried out using cutting-edge technology.
Cyclife Digital Solutions develops robust digital tools tailored to the nuclear environment and based on real-time 3D technologies. DEMplus® for nuclear generates scenarios by simultaneously estimating costs, deadlines, waste flows and dosimetry per operator. MySurvey and ViSu contribute to the modelling of industrial digital twins.
Cyclife Engineering and Graphitech* are dedicated to reactor decommissioning scenarios, the design of nuclear waste storage and treatment facilities, the development of remote-controlled tools, and on-site decommissioning operations.
Cyclife Germany has a team that specialises in on-site dismantling and a sales team whose mission is to liaise directly with customers and partners in the German and Eastern European markets.
Waste2Glass* aims to provide a unique and concrete solution for the treatment of certain specific radioactive waste, based on the GeoMelt® vitrification process.
Cyclife Aquila Nuclear designs and assembles shielded facilities and remote handling equipment.
Cyclife has also a presence in Japan for direct contact with customers and partners in Asia to benefit from Cyclife's full range of services.
