GenF's mission is to develop the first inertial confinement nuclear fusion reactor triggered by lasers. A winner of the France 2030 program in 2024, GenF is leading the Taranis project in collaboration with CNRS and CEA to harness fusion energy. With a target for commercialization by 2040 and a connection to the energy grid by 2050, GenF's fusion reactor will safely produce nearly 1,000 MW of decarbonized and competitive electricity. To achieve this, GenF relies on an industrial base of high-tech suppliers such as Thales, Framatome, and Assystem.
